What To Expect
As a photographer I work mainly on location using the natural light I find there. I specialise in taking photographs of children & families, I particularly love taking newborn photographs. I also take pictures of teens, couples and would consider weddings. 
Working on location with natural light makes the pictures I take more relaxed and personal to you. We have so many beautiful locations in and around the Weston-super-Mare area, why not choose to have your photographs taken on the beach or in your local park or the woods?
At the time of booking your session we can discuss your needs and plan a photography session around you.


When to Book
I currently work Saturdays, and occasional weekday afternoons & evenings. A typical session usually lasts 1-2 hrs.
In order to provide the very best service I can to both my family and my clients, may sessions are limited to only a couple per month, and these do tend to book up quickly. Please contact me early to avoid disappointment and for a chance to get the time frame for the session you want.
The time of day I take photographs is extremely important in order to make the best possible use of the available light, for outdoor sessions early evening is best, unless you have chosen a location with shade for morning/mid-afternoon shoots. For indoor photographs early afternoon is best. 
Your images will be available to view 2-3 weeks after your photo session, and photographic products 2-3 weeks after that. Please leave enough time for images to be ready for special occasions such as birthdays & Christmas gifts.


Prices
Now is a great time to take advantage of my introductory prices, an average session starts from as little as £140 which includes your photography session, a viewing session and products of your pictures (cd's, framed prints, canvases, or photo books) to the value of £100 pounds. I also offer mini sessions starting from £70.

Preparing for your session
Come prepared to have fun, each family is unique and I aim to capture the essence of this during your session.
Choose what each of you wear carefully; avoid styles that will date easily, or which have logos and images on them.
Wear something you love wearing that makes you feel happy, or which reflects your personality. Don't be afraid of colour, patterns or layering this can look great on camera. Most children aren't comfortable in formal dress (I know my boy's aren't), and this can sometime show in the photographs, make sure you have a change of clothes.
Coordinating clothes work well, but try not to over match, think complimentary colour tones - earth, jewel, sky or chocolate tones. If you really feel stuck for inspiration you can't go wrong with black or white t-shirts & jeans.
Please try to make sure that your little ones have had a nap and aren't too sleepy, it's the little things that can make all the difference.
Don't forget to bring along special objects that are meaningful to your family, if your son plays football bring a football, if your daughter dances bring along a tutu, if dad's a golf fan bring his clubs along.


Newborn Sessions
Call me within the last month of your pregnancy to book your session. A newborn photo shoot should be scheduled within a baby's precious first week.
These sessions are quite different to my other photography sessions as they typically last well over an hour. Newborn babes usually run on their own time schedule and will need to stop frequently for nappy changes, feeding and cuddles, the happier and more content we can make a little one feel the better.
As for dressing your little baby, a vest or nappy is best, something that fits and isn't too big. Props work really well - hats, baskets, bowls & beads, so have them handy. My aim is to capture all the little things tiny toes and fingers etc.


A Typical Workflow
I am currently building my business portfolio and juggling my family demands, but I aim to work to the following schedule.

1. Email or phone me to request a session. We can then book a date and discuss your families specific needs. A non-refundable deposit will be required at this time for your session, £40 for a full session, £30 for a mini session.
2. I will send you a welcome pack with all the details you need for your session and ordering your prints and photographic products.
3. Your session.
4. 2-3 days sample pictures of your session will be available to view on the website.
5. 2-3 weeks we will have a viewing session in your home where you can see your pictures and choose which ones you would like on a disc, as prints or framed, or even on canvas or in a book. The remainder of your payment will be due at this point for your photographic products. £100 for a full session, £40 for a mini.
6. A further 2-3 weeks and your disc and products will be delivered to you.
